When Renata first walked into Kindergarten Countdown Camp (KCC), she was reserved and unsure. During group discussions and movement activities, she often chose to observe rather than participate.
After a few days, Renata formed a friendship with a classmate at her table. That friendship helped her feel more comfortable and begin building her confidence. Then, when her friend was absent one day, Renata stepped outside her comfort zone and began connecting with other classmates. Soon, one friendship had opened the door to many more.
While Renata was still hesitant to try new things, the consistent support of her KCC teachers helped her continue moving forward. Whenever a new challenge arose, they took the time to model the activity step by step and offer gentle encouragement. With their support, Renata became increasingly willing to try new things and give each challenge her best effort.
Renata’s growth soon extended beyond the classroom. Her mother noticed a transformation in how her daughter interacted with others. Usually hesitant around unfamiliar peers, Renata surprised her mom during a family outing by comfortably chatting and playing with children she had just met. She also took another big step toward independence when she rode the school bus for the very first time.
By the end of KCC, Renata had grown from a hesitant observer into a more confident participant. She was connecting with others, embracing new experiences, and building the confidence she’ll carry with her into kindergarten.
