This spring, Leaders United—our dynamic group of young professionals—wrapped up another incredible year of their Breakfast Club mentoring program with 8th graders at Robert Abbott Middle School in Waukegan.
Throughout the year, students eagerly participated in the sessions, engaging in meaningful conversations about mental wellness, self-esteem, and social-emotional learning. Thanks to the support and guidance of our dedicated mentors, these young students are leaving middle school more confident, resilient, and ready to take on the challenges of high school.
This year also marked the start of an exciting new partnership with Waukegan High School’s National Honor Society students, who served as peer mentors and role models for the 8th graders. To celebrate everyone's achievements, each Robert Abbott student received Waukegan High School spirit wear—a small gift to show our pride in their progress. In addition, National Honor Society students were honored with mentor pins, recognizing their commitment to making a difference in their community.
