We’re excited to share the results of our recent community awareness survey for 211 Lake County, conducted in partnership with Northern Illinois University’s Center for Governmental Studies.
Community awareness of 211 has grown significantly—34% of Lake County respondents reported they’ve heard of 211, up from just 21.5% in 2022. This is especially encouraging given that 211 only launched locally in 2019, compared to decades of service in some other regions.
The survey also showed that: 62% of respondents said they would be likely to use 211 if they or someone in their household needed help. 78% believe 211 is valuable to their community.
These insights will help us shape future outreach efforts to ensure more people are aware of and can access this vital resource.
